Fishing

Pickerel / Walleye fishing very slow.   Weather just starting to get better .  Yesterday snowing and today 20 deg Celsius. and sunny.  Some of the outlying lakes still producing pickerel but Gowganda lake very slow.  Some Lake trout and pike biting.

The much anticipated “opening weekend” for pickerel has come and gone. Even though the weather was about as bad as it could have been the quiet town of Gowganda was alive with eager fishermen .  For the brave that ventured out in their boats into the cold steady rain many returned with their fish ..  In camp we had some nice Northern Pike, Smallmouth bass and Walleye brought in for that first fishfry of the season.
